Hi everyone,
We had a late start to the morning after a very needed really long sleep, so we didn’t make it down for the hotel breakfast and decided to skip it altogether.
We got ready and took the bus to Little India. We’ve been enjoying exploring the little neighbourhoods that are a little rough around the edges but have a lot to offer for site seeing.

We started our time in Little India at Mustafa Centre which is a multilevel shop that is open 24/7 and sells anything you could ever imagine. It was cramped and maybe a little overwhelming but cool to see everything that was on offer. We picked up some things and then headed out to get some food.

On the way we visited a Hindu temple. It was interesting seeing people make their offerings at the various shrines.

One we were done at the temple the meal we were about to have was one of the most anticipated for us especially Ronnie who loves Indian food. We ate at Tekka Centre, another hawker centre. We ordered from Delhi Lahori which is a highly recommended hawker stall there. We got the butter chicken set that came with two big pieces of garlic naan and a roti Prata with onions served with a vegetable curry.

We also got mango lassi’s from a stall where Ronnie described the man there as both super friendly and angry at the same time. The mango lassi’s were so delicious we went back for a second round.
We took the bus home after lunch and chilled for a bit. We went to the hotel pool so Julian could play on the playground and Ronnie could swim. It was bucketing down and Julian ended up getting in the pool too! Once the thunder and lightning arrived we headed back inside.

We decided to go to Newton Food Centre for which was famously featured in Crazy Rich Asians. It took a couple of trains to get there but it was pretty easy trip. We got some refreshing but very sour lime juices to drink and then Ronnie got a Milo dinosaur which was delicious. Milo is very popular here.

For food we got chicken wings and satay from a stall that has been previously Michelin recognised. We also got carrot cake but it’s not the dessert kind. We got a mix of the black and white version. The black is radish cooked in a sweet soy and the white is like an omelette with radish served with chilli sauce. All of it was very nice.

We made our way home with very full bellies but we stopped in at Great World for a cream puff to finish off the night. It was thundering and the lightning was crazy so we legged it home and enjoyed that dessert back at the hotel before heading to bed.
