Hi everyone!
It was an early wake up this morning, you wouldn’t think 2 hours would mad such a big difference but we can’t seem to sleep past 5-5:30 unfortunately. We went down and had our hotel buffet breakfast which was decent. Pandan toast is pretty damn good. Just after we ate breakfast Julian went for a play at the outdoor playground at our hotel.

We then jumped on the bus which was super convenient. Right out front of our hotel and took it down to Vivo City which is an enormous shopping centre on the harbour where we had lunch at a place called Encik Tan. They had traditional Singaporean meals. We shared a Wonton Mee, and a curry chicken rice.

Everyone says the best way to get to Sentosa Island is to take the cable car where you go up to the 15th floor of the building and fly across to the island, so we did that.

The cable car was a bit of a rip off tbh. $70 for 5-10 minutes. You can easily take the monorail over for $4 which is what we should have done.
Sentosa Island is basically owned by a company called Resorts world. It’s known as “the state of fun. It’s basically an island full of entertainment attractions. It’s pretty wild.
We had tickets to the Oceanarium. When this aquarium opened in 2012 it was the biggest in the world (by total water volume). It’s a pretty good aquarium in our opinion. Lots and lots of tropical fish, a beautiful jellyfish section, a decent and informative manta ray show and a solid shark tank.

After the aquarium our next attraction was the Skyline Luge. If you’ve followed our New Zealand blogs you’ll have seen that we have done the Skyline luge twice in Queenstown and once at the original in Rotorua. It’s basically a downhill road luge that you cruise down and take different tracks and then you take a chair lift back to the top. It’s always super fun. We were concerned Julian would be scared but he was able to tandem as he is >85cm and he loved it so much, he didn’t want to stop. We ended up doing 10 runs.

We took the monorail back to the main resortsworld area where we were to have dinner. One of the foods that is highly renowned in Singapore is Chilli Crab. We knew it was going to be expensive, probably the most expensive meal on our trip, but we also knew that we had to do it. Tonight’s feed was at a restaurant called Jumbo’s.

You pay per 100gm of crab and just have to accept whatever size crab they have. Ours was 1.3kgs. You use little buns called Mantou to scoop up the sauce and you use your hands to crack and eat the crab. It was damnnn good. We’re happy we did this. It’s our goal to eat all the best food here.

After dinner we spent a little bit of time playing at the Lego store and grabbed an ice cream.

Then we took the monorail over to the beach station for our last activity of the night. It’s called the Wings of Time show. It’s laser, fireworks, music and special effects over the water on the beach. It was pretty great. Julian was a little bit scared of the fireworks but it was really very impressive.

It was an enormous day. We were completely and utterly exhausted and we had to jam pack on the monorail and then walk back through vivo city to get onto the bus to get home which felt very, very difficult.
