Hey everyone!
It has been a long time since we spoke. A lot has happened in our lives since then. Julian is now 3 and we figured it was time to do exactly what we had envisioned when we decided to have children – to be travelling parents. It is important for us to pursue what we love and we hope that we can instil a love of travel in Julian too.

We will be spending the next 11 days in Singapore and then the 10 after that in Malaysia. We have been planning this for a long time and are looking forward to every moment. Though with Julian in tow, it is sure to present its challenges, but we are sure it is nothing we cannot overcome.

We left Bathurst bright and early at 8am and headed on the currently broken great western highway to Penrith. The detour wasn’t too bad. We stopped for a quick bum change and to buy our new travel cam. We’ve upgraded from a GoPro to a DJI, so look for our travel video to be a good upgrade too.

We had the recently opened Wingstop for lunch in Penrith. We got Korean and hot honey wings, some garlic Parmesan tenders with some chippies and dipping sauces and some Cajun corn bits. We weren’t expecting much, but it was honestly pretty good.

After that we got back to the car and travelled another hour to the domain car park in Sydney city. Our only destination here was the Art Gallery of NSW. We have been to Sydney lots of times and never realised this was here. It’s was excellent. We love a gallery and there were so many amazing artworks.

The main reason we went here is because there is a famous sculptor called Ron Mueck that does real life sculptures.

One of Ronnie’s colleagues told him about this and we were immediately excited. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Check out these pieces.

This was a really incredible exhibit. Unfortunately it closes tomorrow, but there is one of his pieces in the main art hall which is haunting and well worth seeing.
At the bottom of the museum they had an exhibit that was an indoor emulation of a public park where you can have a BBQ, kids can play on the park equipment and climbs and all sorts. They really nail the vibe. They have saunas and a milk vat turned into a steam room and all. It’s actually super cool.

After the museum we drove back to our hotel for the night which was the Meriton suites on coward street, Mascot, right near the airport. We usually love this place and have stayed here many times but it’s gone to the dogs. Our room wasn’t ready until an hour after check in time, no parks in the car park that we booked months in advance, just not good in general. But we didn’t let it get us down, we walked down the road to the Woolies to grab some supplied and snacks and dinner for tonight was at Johnny Gios which is a very fast growing pizza chain that always delivers the goods.

Aimee and Julian settled in for the night but Ronnie wasn’t done yet. Aimee bought him a pierce the veil ticket for Christmas and the trip was planned so that he could attend the concert. He had loved Pierce the veil for over 15 years and was very excited to see them again.

They were incredible. Nothing but bangers from start to finish and they brought the energy. What a gig! One of the best he’s been to. They sold out the hordern pavillion 2 nights in a row. The promoter underestimated how popular they are, probably should’ve been at Qudos.

Ronnie got home at about 11pm and we have a 5am wake up for the flight in the morning which will inevitably end up being another massive day. 8 hours on a flight with a very active three year old. Give us strength!
