Queensland road trip – Gold Coast – Day 12

Hi everyone,

Today was a more chill day which we needed after yesterday. We started by getting up early (about 6am) which isn’t too crazy because the sun rises at like 4:30am here, it’s ridiculous and we went down to the outdoor hotel pool and had a swim which was lovely. It takes Julian a little bit to warm up to water activities, but once he does he loves it.

Nervous but happy
Loves walking up and down stairs, even if they’re in water
Post swim sit and chat

After this we went for a drive over to the Broadwater parklands. It is a stretch of a few kilometres about 20 minutes down the road that goes along the water. It has numerous parks, cafes and aqua activities. We started by getting an iced coffee and letting Julian play on this enormous and very cool playground.

Living the coffee life
Fuck they have some mad playgrounds here
Wide slippery dip

Then we walked over to the other side and got changed so Julian could play in the splash pool designed for very little kids called the Rockpool. Again Julian loved this so much.

Nice fishy
Loving the water jets
The seals whiskers are water jets haha

After his play here we stopped quickly at surfers paradise to pick up a feed that Aimee had wanted for a while. We stopped at Janus deli for a few delicious sandwiches, some chicken and some donuts. Dang good and unique food. We also had an iced matcha drinks – may have strawberry and matcha pistachio. Excellent.

It’s healthy if it’s green right?
A lot of food, but delicious

We got back to the hotel and Julian had his nap and we relaxed some more. Then after we geared up and went for another good walk. This time we stopped by Kurrawa park that has a massive and cool playground. It was awesome but unfortunately Julian was just a little bit too small to enjoy it fully. But that didn’t stop him from trying.

Swinging around the world
Ssssssssssnake
Whatever he finds, he climbs

Then we walked a few kilometres next to the beach which had nice parkland on one side and beach on the other side.

We are all a bit buggered and you can tell here
He is looking at a doggy
Crazy hair man

By the end of our walk it was time for dinner and dessert and because last nights was so good we just had to get the same thing again.

So incredibly yummy
The best froyo of all time.

We leave Queensland tomorrow. Back into NSW it is happy and sad. The trip isn’t over yet, we still have a few more destinations.

Ronnie, Aimee and Julian.
