Queensland road trip Gold Coast – Day 11

Hi everyone,

We are here in beautiful Broadbeach. Such a nice spot. We started the day with some pies from 7 eleven – breakfast of champions.

We slowly got ready and made our way to our major activity today. Dreamworld! It is the only theme park in the Gold Coast that Ronnie hasn’t been to and there is a lot of stuff for children so we decided it would be the park we would visit.

Reamworld

What a lovely time we had here. We started the day with some little kiddy rides for Julian. He went on the big red planes with daddy and on the bananas in pyjamas carousel. He also spent time running through the maze. Then we watched the Wiggly friends show!

Julian loved this ride
Such a fun time in the maze

He was too little to go on the big red boat ride
Henry the octopus!

After all that fun it was time for the big kids to play. It was really the perfect day to come to dreamworld, great weather and the park was very quiet which meant that we were able to basically walk onto any ride. Also since one of us had to be with Julian, being a single rider has distinct advantages. Aimee said that the Steel Taipan is the best roller coaster that she has ever been on – and she’s been on a lot. The gold coaster was also fun. Ronnie enjoyed the Sky Voyager which is similar to Soarin around the world at Disney.

Amazing roller coaster
Ronnie is on this ride. Don’t know where though

We were worried that we would have to leave early because we knew that Julian would get tired, it luckily for all of us he was able to fall asleep in his pram which allowed us to be there for the entire duration that the park was open.

We leaned him back after this picture

Theme parks are much different with a young child but still so much fun and we imagine they will only improve as Julian gets older. We can’t wait to take him around the world to visit many different theme parks. Dreamworld has an amazing patents room with full changing facilities, quiet spaces, private rooms and a reading and quiet play area. We utilised this when needed and it was a life saver.

We didn’t really pull this one off

We drove back to our hotel and walked 1km down the road to a viral dinner place in Broadbeach called noodle. The main dish is steamed chicken and rice with greens and chilli oil. The hack is to order their curry sauce with it and cover it with that. This meal is to die for. An absolute 10. I can’t see how we won’t get this tomorrow night too. Sensational.

Looks like slop, tastes like heaven
Even buster loved it

Then we walked down to the boulevard and explored Broadbeach a little at night. Wow, what a place. It’s absolutely gorgeous. Feels so nice to be here. It is a stark contrast from the dilapidated surfers paradise. Broadbeach is happening and so good. We grabbed some yo-chi for dessert. Unbelievable, so delicious.

Gosh that pistachio papi sauce is to die for
Massive yes

What an incredible day. This has easily been our favourite day of this holiday. It has exceeded expectations and has ticked all of the boxes. When we got home Julian went to bed, Aimee watched some trash TV and Ronnie went for a spa/sauna and swim at the hotel pool that he had all to himself.

Absolute top notch day. This is what holidays are all about.

Ronnie, Aimee and Julian.
