Queensland Road Trip – Brisbane – Day 9

Hi everyone,

We woke up early (but a bit later than usual due to some good blockout curtains) and grabbed a couple of bacon and egg rolls for Brekky.

Brioche bun, delicious

The. We got ready and walked about 10 minutes to Riverside ferry terminal and caught the river at down to Southbank. Southbank is really great, it’s such a nicely developed area. It is hard to describe because I don’t think there is anything in Sydney comparable to it. But it’s a cultural/parkland/dining precinct that also has a man made beach? We walked around here and grabbed Bubble tea, Starbucks frappes and a Korean snack called so-tteok. We also checked out the museum here briefly, Julian loved the dinosaurs. He says “stomp stomp”

On the way to Riverside
On the river cat
Starbucks at Southbank
Its sausage and rice cakes
Who said we went to Brisbane? Its Brisban.
We didn’t go on it
It’s just sahh nice here
Stomp stomp!

We went back to the hotel and Ronnie grabbed us some cupcakes from the viral brooki bakehouse. They were great. Julian had his sleep and then we drove over till Sandgate to meet up with Julian’s mamaw and papaw near their home. Julian had a chance to ride his bike here for one of the first times this trip and it was low tide so we walked right out into the ocean. This was low-key one of the best things we’ve done in this trip. Julian usually doesn’t like water but he LOVED walking in it here.

We only got cupcakes because they ran out of cookies
I didn’t choose the park life, the park life chose me
Wayyyy out
Poor lighting
The ridged sand felt so good on ya feet
He loved this

After this we all went together to eat street markets which is a massive permanent food market. It really is quite an impressive place. They have several live bands and a DJ. It’s set out excellently, there are a lot of unique and fun food ($$$$) we got 3 cheese arancini balls, Lamb Gyros, Filipino bbq pork skewers, a fluffy Japanese pancake and donut fries (wtf) biscoff and caramel flavoured ice cream It was all great!

You! Better come here
Unique
Japanese pancake, Oreo
Haha yum

Our time in Brisbane has come to an end. After our sleep tonight we’ll be hitting the road again for our next destination.

Ronnie, Aimee and Julian.
